Today i wake up with a cup of tea and asked my mother to bring newspaper. With a sip of tea i looked at the front page of newspaper.What was in the headlines..............it was too surprising for me.Slumdog millionaire won 8 titles in oscars. Finally we got it after a long long time.
When indian films are nominated in the oscars, we always hope for the best. But when a film like slumdog cracked this award now we have other things to consider. We all know that slumdog did not earned a lot of money in India in comparision with Ghazini and many other superhits. It is not really my intention to criticise any other film. But i am just thinking about our choice of movies. A movie having many international awards is not liked by us, we just like the dance, romance and action of our superstars.
According to the things mentioned above we dont have the right to expect any oscars from indian films. I dont want to blaim our film industry for this but we are responsible for this harsh comment. Film industry caters the things which we like to watch. Danni boyle is a foreign director and he dared to make a film like slumdog. But any indian director would not have tried to make such movie because they all know our taste very well. Thanks Danny to help us to win an oscar.
Now i come to the messege to my friends (indian public) that please give response to good movies to encourage the directors to make movies having potential of award winning. Dont you want any indian director to walk on red carpet of oscars?if you dont want this then you can enjoy our superstars dancing around trees and beating 50 people easily.
